Stonebriar Commercial Finance adds Stewart Jones as Senior Investment Manager, and Grant Fate as Associate—Capital Markets. 

Stonebriar Commercial Finance (“Stonebriar”) announced today that Stewart Jones and Grant Fate have joined the firm as Senior Investment Manager and Associate—Capital Markets, respectively.

Stewart joins Stonebriar from London, England where he was employed as a Senior Credit Manager with Close Brothers Asset Finance, underwriting credit profiles similar those underwritten by Stonebriar.  Prior positions include Credit Manager and Account Executive positions with Barclays Bank and Barclays Asset Finance.  Stewart holds an MSc in Business Economics from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Business Studies from Anglia University.  Stewart will primarily focus on underwriting general equipment transactions supporting Stonebriar’s expanded originations staff.

Jeff Wilkison, Chief Risk Officer, stated “We’re very pleased and fortunate to add Stewart to our staff as we continue to expand our general equipment portfolio.  Stewart brings significant experience in our space and new perspectives from across the pond that will enhance Stonebriar’s investment underwriting.  We welcome Stewart to Texas and look forward to his contributions.”

Grant joins Stonebriar from CBAM Partners, a New York-based alternative investment management firm.  As a credit analyst for CBAM, Grant underwrote widely syndicated leverage loans.  He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BBA in both Accounting and Finance.  Grant will work on business development in Stonebriar’s Capital Markets and Direct Originations groups, reporting to Steve White, EVP Capital Markets.  Mr. White stated, “We are pleased to welcome Grant to the Stonebriar team.  His addition reflects our continuing support for the industry’s emerging talent initiative.  The experience he gained analyzing and underwriting credit during the last year at our sister company, CBAM, will be extremely beneficial to Stonebriar.”
